摘要: This presentation introduces our research in developingan open-source, free software package which provides practical, end-to-end(from the IT equipment to heat rejection to the ambient) modeling andoptimization for data center cooling. It can be used as a stand-alone tool bydata center designers, service consultants and facility managers, or beintegrated into existing data center management software for autonomous optimaloperation. It will be the first practical tool that couples the modeling ofairflow-management and cooling systems to enable a global data center coolingoptimization. Its self-learning regression model enabled by an in situ adaptivetabulation algorithm and a fast fluid dynamics model can predict the criticalairflow information under various operational conditions within a fewmilliseconds. The equation-based modeling language allows a fast and flexiblemodeling of various cooling system configurations. We will demonstrate theusage of our tool at two data centers located in two different climate zones. 


简介: Dr. Wangda Zuo is an AssociateProfessor, Lewis-Worcester Faculty Fellow, and Director of Sustainable BuildingSystems Laboratory (www.colorado.edu/lab/sbs/) in the Department of Civil, Environmental and ArchitecturalEngineering at the University of Colorado Boulder. He also holds a jointappointment at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. He is the Treasurerand Affiliate Director (representing USA) of IBPSA (International BuildingPerformance Simulation Association), Founding Chair of IBPSA-USA ResearchCommittee, Chair of ASHRAE Technical Committee (TC) 7.4 Exergy Analysis forSustainable Buildings and Vice-Chair of TC 4.10 Indoor Environmental Modeling.Dr. Zuo is the recipient of IBPSA-USA Emerging Professional Award, Eliahu I.Jury Early Career Research Award, ASHRAE Distinguished Service Award, andProvost Research Award. He has authored and co-authored more than 60peer-reviewed papers. Prior to joining the CU Boulder, Dr. Zuo was an AssistantProfessor at the University of Miami and Research Scientist at the LawrenceBerkeley National Laboratory. He has a Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineeringfrom Purdue University, a M.Sc. degree in Computational Engineering fromUniversity of Erlangen-Nuremberg in Germany, and an M. Eng and B.Sc. degree inAutomation from Chongqing University in China.
